Amino acids: Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins. Our daily need for protein is actually a need for amino acids.
Dietary amino acids are divided into "basic" and "non-essential":
- The essential amino acids are not prepared by the body and must be obtained from the diet.
- Non-essentials are also essential for health but can be made from essential amino acids.
Both classes are reassembled within the body into hormones, enzymes, neurotransmitters, antibodies and nutrient carriers.
Solgar amino acids are crystalline and free form.
Do not use "D" form amino acids unless it is chronic pain relief where DL-Phenylalanine (DLPA) phenylalanine (DLPA) could be used.
"L" is the natural form of amino acids, ie the form in which they are found in nature. DL - phenylalanine (provides D - phenylalanine 250mg and L - phenylalanine 250mg) 500mg.
