Roger & Gallet in 1879 created the first aromatic soap made from the essence of its perfumes! It was designed in a round shape and wrapped in pleated paper, making the first luxury soap. From there, the tradition began for Parisians to keep scented soaps in drawers with their linens to perfume them discreetly. In 1913, he created the first liquid soap inspired by the house's perfumes. Its packaging was in a typical Art Nouveau bottle while its name, Savon Liquide Adoucissant (Gentle Liquid Soap) to define its quality in relation to the common soaps that caused dry skin.
