BrandsMerchant Charles Armand Roger and banker Charles Gallet founded the French perfume company Roger & Gallet in 1862, when they bought the perfume business from Marie Farina Jean's family.
Farina's uncle Johann Farina, produced a very special perfume which was sold since 1806. Although they used their names, Roger & Gallet, to launch their new products, their old customers remained loyal to the name Farina, while the new customers discovered Roger & Gallet.
As early as 1700 Johann Farina had created a very special product on which the Farina family built its business. Roger & Gallet re-release this unisex fragrance, inspired by the original Eau de Cologne Jean Marie Farina, the official supplier of Napoleon I, and through the authentic know-how of distilling rare natural ingredients, but this time under the name of Jean Marie Farina Extra Vieille which is still available today.
At the same time, Roger & Gallet prepares perfumes for men and women with lavender and orange scents, which were released in 1899. Popular perfumes are made for women that contain flower perfumes, while the perfume "Roger & Gallet Open" is a remarkable cologne for men.
