In almost all cases, newborns with cleft lip, palate and maxilla cleft have problems feeding. They can not exert the downward pressure required for mammalian movements in the mouth. This weakness makes it difficult or even impossible to breastfeed or use a bottle with simple nipples.
The NUK larynx nipple is designed to assist in the implementation of mammalian movements in the case of children with unilateral cleft lip and palate, and in exceptional cases of children with bilateral cleft lip and palate.
NUK's classic orthodontic nipple combines shape with functionality. The front of the palate is covered, thus occluding the oral cavity so that downward pressure can be created in the mouth.
