Lamberts Thiamin 100mg 90 caps
Thiamine, also known as Vitamin B1, is the first B-complex vitamin to be discovered. It is not produced by our body and therefore must be obtained through the diet, such as whole grains, legumes, nuts and seeds. Because it is a water-soluble vitamin, it is not stored in the body, causing insufficiency, either when one's diet is very poor, or because of a reduced appetite, or because of a diet rich in processed foods. Mild thiamine deficiency can occur in the elderly for the reasons mentioned above, although thiamine is added to white flour to prevent deficiency. Thiamine levels can be depleted due to long-term treatment with diuretics and is often recommended in patients undergoing treatment for alcoholism.
