Learn how you can easily dye your own hair at home with the new My Color Elixir hair dye by APIVITA.

Preparation and application - First use

Follow these steps:

1. Protect your clothes by placing a towel on your shoulders when applying the dye and if you are wearing jewelry remove them. Wear the gloves on the package. Apply a small amount of oil near the hair shaft so as not to dye your skin.
2. Empty the entire contents of the spray cream tube (A) into the color activation vial (B). Mixing ratio: 1: 1.5
3. Close the cap of the vial (B) and shake until the mixture is homogeneous. Immediately cut the tip of the color activation vial applicator (B) and start the application IMMEDIATELY.
4. Apply the mixture to dry hair, starting from the roots to the ends, using the tip of the vial applicator (B) to separate the tufts of hair. Apply the rest of the product evenly to your hair and gently massage. The mixture does not run.
5. Leave the mixture to act for 30 minutes.
6. After the end of the waiting time, add a little warm water to your hair and massage lightly until it becomes foam. Rinse with plenty of warm water until the water is clear. Then bathe with the APIVITA Sun Protection Color Shampoo and Honey.
7. Apply the hair cream after the dye and give a good massage to your hair so that its ingredients can penetrate into the hair and seal the color.
8. Leave the cream on for 3 minutes and then rinse well with lukewarm water. Apply again after 15 days.

The product is active only when applied immediately after mixing.

Do not store a mixed product.

Repeated use

When the hair grows longer and you need to repaint the roots (after about 3-4 weeks)

1. Prepare the paint by following steps 1 to 3.
2. Spread the mixture on the roots forming partitions with the tip of the applicator (B). Leave the product on for 20-30 minutes.
3. In case your hair color has faded, apply the rest of the mixture along the hair. Leave the product on for another 5-10 minutes.
4. Complete the process by following steps 6 to 8.

Tips for a professional result

• To avoid repetitive dyeing the color deposition effect (light root-darker edges) leave the dye at lengths only 5-10 minutes (re-use process). In monthly use we recommend repeating only at the roots.
• The final color effect you want for your hair is the combination of the hair base, whether they are natural or dyed, and the color shade you choose.
• If your hair has highlights, you may need more than one application to achieve a uniform color. For better coverage choose one of the basic colors (X.0). If the highlights have been done with decoupage, there is a possibility that the reflexes of the selected shade will be altered. In this case, sandre (X.1) and very dark tones should be avoided.
• If you use half a spray tube, save the rest for later use. The paint should be applied immediately after mixing with the activating emulsion. The mixed paint can not be stored and reused. It is important to maintain the correct mixing ratio (1: 1.5) because if this changes, then the color rendering will not be correct and the white coverage will be insufficient.
• If you have a perm or straightener, wait 15 days before dyeing your hair.
• If you have dyed your hair with henna or semi-permanent dye, wait for the dye to go away completely, in order to achieve a uniform result.
