UNI-PHARMA was founded in 1967 by Cleonas Tsetis , a pharmacist with a vision of strengthening the presence of Greek companies in the Pharmaceutical Industry. It achieved this through the use of modern and innovative technology, as well as through the research and development of new pharmaceutical forms of already existing drugs. Since its first year of operation, UNI-PHARMA has succeeded in developing innovative forms of drug administration. It was the first company worldwide to introduce phenobarbital as an oral solution, LUMIDROPS®, as well as a combination of phenobarbital and omatropine, NOVALUMINE® (sedative and antispasmodic). These solutions were widely accepted by pediatricians, because until then phenobarbital, a substance insoluble in water, was only available in tablet form and therefore had questionable bioavailability.
