Remove an oropharyngeal swab from the package. Insert the swab into the patient's mouth until it reaches the back. Continue inserting until you find resistance. Slowly and gently rotate the swab onto the surface of the back of the oropharyngeal cavity (to avoid reflex coughing, pause for a minute). Slowly remove the swab.

Nasal spleen sample

Remove a nasal swab from the package. Insert the swab into the patient's nostrils until it reaches the nasal cavity (less than 2.5 cm into the nostril).

Gently rotate the swab gently at least 5 times on the surface of the nostril. Slowly remove the swab from the nostril as you rotate it. Repeat the sample collection using the same swab in the other nostril.

Sample of saliva

Remove a saliva swab from the package. Insert the swab into the patient's mouth gently and rub along the lower gums (see picture) in a reciprocating motion. Gently rub the gums 10 times. If possible, avoid contact with teeth. Gently repeat the rubbing movement on the opposite side of the mouth along the lower gums for another 10 times. Gently remove the swab from the mouth.

Blood samples:
